WELL, THERE’S A LOT HKeynoteUSAPENING THIS WEEKEND. I SEE THAT IRON MAN BEHIND YOU. SO KeynoteUSA ARE GOING TO BE OUT OF THE HOME. WHAT TYPE OF CLIMATE WILL YOU WORK WITH? WELL, WE TALKED BEFORE A COUPLE OF SHOWERS TONIGHT, MORNING BUT TOMORROW I THINK WE WILL BE COMPLETELY DRY. YEAH. NICOLE TALKED ABOUT ALL ROADS WILL BE CLOSED AROUND THE DES MOINES AREA TOMORROW DUE TO IRON MAN. So if you’re one of those athletes or one of the volunteers, you’re going to go out and cheer on someone else. YOU’RE GOING TO WORK TOMORROW WITH PRETTY DECENT WEATHER. IT WILL BE MUCH SUNNER. THAT’S THE BIG DIFFERENCE. TOMORROW MORNING, WHEN THE RACE STARTS AROUND 6:30, IT WILL GO OUT TO GRYS LAKE. PROBABLY TEMPERATURES AROUND 60 DEGREES. THERE IS NOT A LOT OF WIND, THE BREEZE IS GOING UP AS HIGH AS MAYBE 20 MPH FROM THE NORTH AND WEST. FOR TOMORROW AFTERNOON, BUT OUR TEMPERATURES SHOULD ONLY GET INTO THE 80’S AT THE HIGHEST THIS AFTERNOON. I JUST WAS IN SOME 70’S AND THE CLOUDS LIVE LOOKING FROM LAMONI TOWARD THE SOUTH OF IT. WE HAVE ONLY A COUPLE OF RAIN DROPS SCATTERED IN THAT DIRECTION WE MENTIONED ALTHOUGH THE SUN COMES BACK TOMORROW AND THAT WILL LAST UNTIL THE FIRST PART OF THE NEXT WORKWEEK. IT’S THE MIDDLE OF THE NEXT WORKWEEK WHEN WE COULD HAVE A COUPLE OF STORM CHANCES, AND THEN WE STARTED TO BUILD A LITTLE WARMTH. THERE IS LIGHT, SCATTERED RAIN MOVING ACROSS PARTS OF SOUTHERN IOWA HERE THIS AFTERNOON. IT’S KIND OF DISINTEGRATION WHEN YOU ARRIVE FROM NEBRASKA. IT’S NOT THE MOST POWERFUL SYSTEM, THERE’S A LITTLE MOISTURE AND THERE’S A LOT OF DRY AIR UNDER THOSE CLOUDS. MANY OF THOSE RAINDROPS EVKeynoteUSAORATE BEFORE REACHING THE GROUND. THAT’S WHERE RAIN WILL STILL BE POSSIBLE, UNTIL I THINK MIDNIGHT, IN PARTS OF WESTERN AND SOUTHERN IOWA. AND THEN WE WILL SEE PARTLY CLOUDY SKIES, I THINK, FOR THE REST OF TONIGHT AND TOMORROW MORNING BEFORE WE CLEAR COMPLETELY INTO TOMORROW SUNDAY, THAT LITTLE BREEZE THAT CAME OUT OF THE NORTH AND THE WEST, BUT OTHERWISE PRETTY GOOD WEATHER . NOT TOO WET EITHER. FROM 70 TO BELOW 80 BY TOMORROW. AFTERNOON TEMPERATURES. GOOD WAY TO SPEND THE SECOND HALF OF THE WEEKEND. NOW THE NEXT WEEK MENTIONED MONDAY WILL STILL BE PRETTY DRY. HIGH PRESSURE WILL SLIDE TOWARD OUR NORTH AND EAST. A LITTLE COLDER FLOW COMING FROM THAT DIRECTION AROUND SO HIGH KEEPS OUR TEMPERATURES. ACTUALLY IN THE 70S. ON MONDAY, YOUR NEXT CHANCE OF RAIN FOR MOST OF THE US. TUESDAY’S FRONT WILL PROBABLY REACH IN FROM THE NORTH AND WEST, NOT A POWERFUL SYSTEM HERE, BUT SOME SHOWERS, MAYBE A STORM OR TWO AHEAD OF THAT LIMIT DURING THE DAY TUESDAY. And then once that slides, we’ll eventually start to build up some heat as we move into Wednesday, we’re also going to start to get a little bit more humidity, so the dew point numbers. WE SHOW THEM A LOT OF THOSE TEMPERATURES. WELL, KEEP IN MIND THAT WHEN YOU GET OVER 60, THAT’S USUALLY WHEN YOU CAN START TO FEEL THE MOISTURE A LITTLE. YOU SEE, WE ARE NOT GOING TO FEEL HUMIDITY WITH NUMBERS BETWEEN 40 AND 50 F TOMORROW OR MONDAY OR TUESDAY. BUT FROM WEDNESDAY ONWARD, ONCE IT GETS ABOVE 60, ESPECIALLY ONCE IT GETS 70, THAT’S THE AIR YOU CAN FEEL, OR EVEN AIR YOU CAN USE, AND NOTICE TEMPERATURES RISING UNTIL LATER NEXT WEEK . AS OF WEDNESDAY, WE ARE CLOSE TO 90 OR AROUND 90, MAYBE EVEN ABOVE IT AS WE GO INTO WEDNESDAY, THURSDAY, MAYBE EVEN FRIDAY. WE ALSO HAVE A COUPLE OF WEATHER SYSTEMS THAT WILL BE MOVING HERE. WE MENTION TUESDAY CHANCE OF LIGHT RAIN WEDNESDAY, WEDNESDAY

Aside from some very light rain that reached western Iowa, today was a dry day across the state. A brief, light rain shower is still possible, mainly in southwest Iowa, tonight, but the dry air below the clouds will evaporate most of the moisture. Residual clouds will pass overhead tonight and the sun will shine again tomorrow. Highs will peak around 80°F on Sunday, followed by 70°F on Monday as high pressure slides to our northeast and introduces slightly colder air into Iowa. On Tuesday, a cold front passes through, bringing which provides our next chance for some showers and storms. A large ridge of high pressure will form over the western U.S. during the week. The heat will increase and spread east toward Iowa, becoming evident on Wednesday. Highs around 90° are likely in the second half of the week. Humidity should also increase, pushing heat indices above the 90° mark some afternoons. There is a chance for some fast systems to ride the jet stream around the heat ridge. bringing storms to Iowa. At this time, the most likely days would be Wednesday and Thursday. More rain looks possible next weekend.
DES MOINES, Iowa—
Aside from some very light rain that reached western Iowa, today was a dry day across the state. A brief, light rain shower is still possible, mainly in southwest Iowa, tonight, but the dry air below the clouds will evaporate most of the moisture.
Tonight residual clouds will pass and tomorrow the sun will shine again. Highs will top out around 80°F on Sunday, followed by 70°F on Monday as high pressure slides to our northeast and introduces slightly colder air into Iowa.
On Tuesday, a cold front arrives, bringing us the next opportunity for some showers and storms.
By midweek, a large ridge of high pressure will form over the western United States. The heat will increase and spread eastward toward Iowa, becoming evident on Wednesday. Highs around 90° are likely in the second half of the week.
Humidity should also increase, pushing heat indices above 90° some afternoons.
There is a chance for some fast systems to travel in the jet stream around the heat ridge, bringing storms to Iowa. Right now, the most likely days would be Wednesday and Thursday. More rain looks possible next weekend.
