More than 1,500 Minnesotans have filed to run for positions ranging from U.S. senator to town supervisor.

It’s an election year in Minnesota. In addition to the rematch between President Joe Biden and Donald Trump, Minnesotans will elect a U.S. senator, congressional representatives, members of the state House of Representatives, judges and numerous local offices, from county commissions to city councils. to school boards.
If there is more than one candidate for office from the same party, or more than double the number of candidates as open seats for a nonpartisan election, the candidates will compete in the August 13 primary election.
