The average price per gallon for the week of June 24, 2024 is $3.04, compared to $3.17 for the week of June 17, 2024. That’s also down 24 cents compared to this time of year last, when the price per gallon was $3.28 for the week of June 24, 2024, week of June 26, 2023.

AAA said the national average per gallon of gasoline has remained stable over the past week at $3.44. The increase in supply has helped stabilize pump prices despite a slow increase in demand. The national average is 16 cents lower than a month ago and 13 cents lower than a year ago, AAA added.
West Texas Intermediate rose 60 cents at the close of the formal trading session on June 20, settling at $82.17 a barrel. AAA said, according to the Energy Information Administration, that crude oil inventories decreased by 2.5 million barrels from the previous week, and lower crude oil inventories and geopolitical tensions have contributed to the rise in crude oil prices. .
