MARC RACICOT, GARY BUCHANAN and GERALDINE CUSTER
The 118th Congress began on January 3, 2023 and will end on January 3, 2025.
It is, by any measure, one of the least functional in the 235-year history of the United States of America.
How many times over the past two years has Congress revealed itself to be an incompetent, bitter mess? Congress’s inability or refusal to focus on the public good, and instead engage in internal disputes with the intent of exposing each other to criticism, has led to repeated threats of a government shutdown, an incomprehensible failure in creating of a humane and safe border. , toleration of precipitous increases in prescription drug costs, and a crippling game of musical chairs over who will be speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives.
No one seems to be focusing on the concerns of people who live in Montana, least of all those in central and eastern Montana’s Second Congressional District. Where is a modern, effective Farm Bill that strengthens our agricultural producers, ensures a strong, clean water supply, and serves the interests of farmers and ranchers?

We need resources to support first responders and law enforcement who are on the front lines of illegal drug trafficking. That’s just a start. Instead, seven of the eight candidates in the ongoing 2024 primary election are enthusiastic acolytes of former President Donald Trump, marching in lockstep in pursuit of his angry, vengeful agenda that promises more of the same chaos, confusion and helplessness in Washington’s capital. our nation.
Only one candidate in this election is committed to crushing the senseless chaos in Washington, DC, and serving as a conservative voice and vote for common sense, common ground, and blameless character.
That candidate is Joel Krautter.
He is an accomplished Billings-based attorney, former Montana state legislator, and a product of the Montana public school and university system. He is focused on strong public policy and an unwavering commitment to working tirelessly to get urban and rural Montanans right in the United States Congress.
As someone under the age of 40, Krautter also truly represents the next generation of leaders serving Montanans and ensuring the future is bright, secure and full of hope for our children and grandchildren.
We encourage our fellow Montanans who will be voting in Montana’s Second Congressional District to vote a Republican Party ballot on June 4 and vote for Joel Krautter to represent Montana in the United States Congress. You can do so with the knowledge and belief that Krautter will work hard, vote his conscience, and fight for all Montanans, regardless of his political perspective.
We are proud to support Joel Krautter and believe he will make us proud of the work he will do on our behalf in our nation’s capital.
Marc Racicot is former Attorney General and Governor of Montana (1993-2001) and Chairman of the Republican National Committee (2002-2003).
