Savannah native Mary Miller continues to dominate the links. Fresh from being crowned Georgia High School Association State Golfer of the Year, Miller added more hardware to her trophy case on Thursday. Miller captured the women’s overall division of the Georgia PGA Junior Championship for the third consecutive year finishing 8 under par, nine strokes. better than her competition. Miller was also the only golfer in her division to finish under par, finishing with a 208. Miller graduated from Savannah Christian Preparatory School last spring and is set to continue her golf career and her education at Georgia Southern University this autumn. Only players located within the Georgia Section are eligible to compete in the Georgia PGA Junior Championship and it is considered one of the premier junior golf championships. The three-day, 54-hole event concluded Thursday at Doublegate Country Club in Albany, Georgia. With the win, Miller received an invitation to the Georgia Women’s Open, which begins July 22 in Athens, Georgia. Miller graduated from Savannah Christian High School last spring after leading the Raiders to their third consecutive GHSA State Championship. This fall she will continue her career and golf education at Georgia Southern University.
