As Tennessee baseball prepares for the Knoxville Super Regional, ticket prices are through the roof, so fans may want to make a plan for a place to watch with friends.
And why not leave work a little early to watch the Vols over a cold beer and late lunch?
Yes, the games start early, with Friday’s matchup against Evansville scheduled for 3 p.m. and Saturday’s scheduled for 11 a.m. But it’s 5 o’clock somewhere, and Knox News has you covered with some of the best spots to cheer on the Vols if I had No luck with the tickets.
Too bad we can’t visit the Vols theme bar in Tokyo!
We have called ahead to make sure these bars are open for games, including those that occur outside of normal business hours. If you plan to go somewhere that is not on this list, we suggest you do the same!
If size matters, these TVs in Knoxville bars should do the trick
Double Dogs – 8910 Kingston Pike
If you’re out west, Double Dogs will be playing super regional games on their TVs, and some will be combined to form larger screens throughout the bar.
Social country house – 2525 Path of the university commons
Try some pulled pork nachos, some chili cheese wedges, or some smoked ribs (maybe all three) while watching the Vols on what the restaurant and bar claims to be the “largest TV in the South.”
Schulz Brau Brewing Company – 126 Bernard Ave.
As the award-winning German brewery showcases the games, it also celebrates its eighth anniversary. Fans can enjoy German beer, festivities and music from Friday to Sunday. Don’t be surprised if the game goes silent while the bands are playing.
Yee-Haw Brewing Co. – 745 N. Broadway
The Knoxville brewery will be playing the games all weekend on its giant outdoor screen that anchors the beer garden. There is also a wall of screens inside. Enjoy Prince’s Hot Chicken to complete your baseball experience.
Some Tennessee Volunteers Themed Sports Bars in Knoxville
Peyton’s Place – 5210 Schubert Road
Peyton’s Place has no direct ties to Manning, but it’s still a fun place to watch Tennessee baseball. The bar has pool and darts if you want to play a few quick games between innings.
Room 16 – 1706 Cumberland Ave.
This Vols-themed option is located just off the Strip near the University of Tennessee at Knoxville campus. The restaurant and bar has ties to Peyton Manning, so it’s filled with Volunteer memorabilia.
Traditional Knoxville Sports Bars to Watch Tennessee Baseball
Skybox Sports Bar & Grill – 415 S. Gay St.
In the heart of downtown, Skybox will open early for play in a classic sports bar.
Tommy Trent Sports Lounge – 36 Market Square
Just steps from Skybox, this bar has a classic sports atmosphere perfect for cheap beer, tasty food, and good baseball. Tommy Trent’s also has a patio with outdoor TVs on the corner of Market Square if you want to enjoy the weather while watching.
Walk-On’s Sports Bistreaux – 7621 Kingston Pike
With a slight baseball theme, Walk-On’s in the west has plenty of TVs that will be on all weekend and a delicious menu of sandwiches and subs.
For the family, why not visit one of these well-known local chains?
Aubrey’s Restaurant – Multiple locations in East Tennessee
You might need some comfort food this weekend, whether to celebrate a Vols win or to mask your sorrows. That’s exactly what you can find at Aubrey’s, an East Tennessee event.
Calhoun’s on the River – 400 Neyland Dr.
Restaurant chain Calhoun’s is another East Tennessee fixture, but it’s the riverside location that earns a spot on this list for being just steps from the UT campus. This makes it a great place to (hopefully) catch a Vols win and some scenic views.
More bars to watch Knoxville Super Regional baseball games
soccer cleat – 9 Market Square
Sit at the bar and enjoy Mexican cuisine accompanied by America’s favorite pastime.
South Side Garage – 1014 Sevier Ave.
In South Knoxville, this neighborhood bar will have the garage doors open so guests can sit outside and watch the games. Additionally, Dia De Foods will be open and serving delicious burritos and tacos.
Stefano’s Pizza – 10573 Hardin Valley Rd.
Pizza and chicken wings? There hasn’t been a better pairing since pitcher and catcher, and both feeds go well with a Vols win.
