Iowa Weather: Warm and mostly dry weekend, with summer-like heat next week

THIS SUMMER. AND JASON, THERE’S ALSO SOMETHING BIG IN ALTOONA THIS WEEKEND. THERE WAS THE COMMODITY AND I SAW SOME PHOTOS OF METEOROLOGIST JON RIVAS OUT THERE. ALL PONCHO UP IN THE RAIN, HAVING FUN WITH HIS FRIENDS. Yeah, I mean, we’ve had rain, but I think tomorrow, I think tomorrow could end up going pretty well for us weather-wise. YOU COULD SEE AN ISOLATED SHOWER OUTSIDE, SO I HOPE IT HAS THAT UMBRELLA. DREW GREEN STARTING AT 6 PM RUSSELL DICKERSON 830. JAKE OWEN, BAREFOOT BLUE JEAN NIGHT. THAT’S ONE OF MY FAVORITE SONGS OF HIS AT TEN. OH FIVE. SO WE HAVE THE CLOUDS FOR THAT. AND WE COULD SEE AN ISOLATED SHOWER, BUT PROBABLY NOT AS WIDESPREAD AS WE ARE SEEING NOW. YOU CAN SEE MORE RAIN OPEN UP TOWARD THE CENTRAL PARTS OF THE STATE. A LITTLE SHOWER ACTIVITY NEAR NEWTON, ALSO EAST OF OTTUMWA. BUT AS WE LOOKED BEFORE, THERE ARE SOME DRYER SKIES TOWARD THE NORTH. SO THAT SHOULD HELP. WE STILL HAVE MORE RAIN IN MINNESOTA. HERE YOU GET A LITTLE FURTHER SOUTHWEST AND CAN SEE SHOWERS AND EVEN SOME STORMS MOVING ACROSS. As we move into the evening, we will see some rain. It comes from Saturday night to Sunday, and then on Sunday we start to dry out. SO WE LOOK AT YOUR WEEKEND HERE AND AGAIN ISOLATED HIT OR MISS OPPORTUNITIES ON SATURDAY. IF YOU GO TO THE FARMERS MARKET, I REALLY THINK YOU WILL BE FINE. WE COULD SEE SOME RELEVANT SHOWERS EARLY, BUT THAT ACTIVITY SHOULD CLEAR BY THE TIME SUNDAY BEGINS. AGAIN. GOOD MONDAY TOO. ON TUESDAY WE WILL HAVE A CHANCE OF SOME SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS. ON WEDNESDAY WE STARTED WARMING UP 87 DEGREES, AS FOR THE RAIN THAT WE HAVE LEFT, WE COULD SEE ABOUT MAYBE A QUARTER OF AN INCH FOR SOME OF THOSE PLACES THAT GET TANGLED IN SOME SHOWERS FOR A LONGER PERIOD OF TIME. OTHERWISE THERE ARE BIG HUNDREDS OF INCHES. IT LOOKS VERY GOOD IN WEST DES MOINES AT THE MOMENT. AND SEE COVERED SKIES. IT IS VERY DARK OUTSIDE WITH ONLY A FEW SHOWERS AND LIGHT WINDS. IT HASN’T BEEN VERY BAD. WE HAVE STRONGER WINDS TOWARD THE SOUTHWEST, WHERE THAT SYSTEM IS PROVIDING THROUGH. OTHERWISE, IT’S PRETTY COMFORTABLE OUTSIDE. IN ADDITION TO THE RAIN, TEMPERATURES WILL WARM BACK INTO THE UPPER 70S F TO THE LOWER 80S F, WE WILL BE CLOUDY PRETTY ALL DAY, SO UNLESS YOU HAVE A REALLY GREAT PAIR OF SUNGLASSES YOU WANT TO WEAR, YOU PROBABLY WON’T WANT THEM YOU’LL NEED OUT TOMORROW. BUT IF YOU HEAD TO RACCOON RIVER PALOOZA, IT LOOKS VERY GOOD. STARTING WITH LIGHT BREEZE, MOSTLY CLOUDY SKIES AND WE REMAIN CLOUDY FOR MUCH OF THE DAY. BUT AGAIN, MOST OF US WILL BE DRY FOR MOST OF THE DAY, SO MAKE SURE YOU GET OUT AND ARRIVE TO THOSE EVENTS. IT SEEMS GOOD TO US. 63 TONIGHT. AGAIN, WE WILL STILL BE DEALING WITH A FEW ISOLATED OR SCATTERED SHOWERS, POTENTIALLY A STORM. AND TOMORROW ANOTHER OPPORTUNITY FOR AN ISOLATED SHOWER. TEMPERATURES ALTHOUGH VERY TEMPORARY FOR THIS TIME OF THE YEAR. THE AVERAGE IS 80 DEGREES. WE WILL GET TO 79. SO, LOOKING AT A GOOD WEEKEND, WE GOT BEYOND THE WEEKEND EVEN AGAINST THE SUN ON MONDAY. CHANCES OF SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS ON TUESDAY, AND AFTER THAT WE REALLY STARTED TO WARM UP. 86 ON WEDNESDAY, 92 ON THURSDAY WITH A SHOWER KEEPING IN THE 90S ON FRIDAY AND ONLY
