“Now that summer is officially here, we have seen the national average price of gasoline remain more stable compared to last week, and some states have seen their traditional prices fluctuate every two weeks, while others have seen prices are coming down slowly,” said Patrick De Haan, head of oil analysis at GasBuddy. “For now, gas prices are likely to see little movement ahead of July 4 as oil prices have risen above $80. But the good news is that instead of the national average jumping to follow the rise in oil prices, it is holding steady. The bad thing is that the decreases we expected will have to wait, thanks to the increase in oil.”
