Although we’re only a week in at this point, Daison Pursley has apparently declared June as his breakout month.
He made that statement with his right foot and wheel once again in a victorious performance during the third round of USAC Indiana Midget Week on Friday night at Bloomington Speedway.

In the span of four June starts under the USAC national flag, Pursley has yet to finish on the podium. Now, he has moved to the top of the USAC Indiana Midget Week standings with two events remaining, as well as USAC NOS Energy Drink Midget National Championship points from the entire season.
“It’s amazing to drive this car right now,” praised Pursley. “It makes my job a lot easier. “I have all the confidence in the world to start wherever I want in the special and I know that we are going to have a car capable of winning.”
This time, Pursley started seventh on the grid. However, he wasted no time in getting to work. In the first round, he was fifth and in the second, he was third behind sole starter Justin Grant and third place Jacob Denney.
“I managed to ride pretty well in the first few laps, then I was able to pass Logan (Seavey) for fourth place,” Pursley repeated. “I wanted to get over him so I could control whether he wanted to get to the top or not because Logan runs to the top very, very hard. Once I got through it, I knew everything was going to be okay and we were able to focus on our questions and have a good, solid race.”
