Iowa Weather: Trading a Windy Day for Another Chance of Rain
Updated: 6:33 pm CDT June 6, 2024
YEAH. I mean, that was necessary. I had to take a lot of strength, but the wind is still blowing quite strong. LOOK AT YOUR WIND GUST MKeynoteUSA AND WE HAVE 29 MPH GUSTS IN THE METRO. AND MANY GUSTS TO THE NORTHWEST IN THE 30S. ONCE AGAIN, WE’RE A LOT FROM THE 50 FA WHICH SOME OF US REACHED IN THE WIND GUSTS TODAY, BUT YOU’RE STILL GOING TO SEE THOSE TREES BEND A LITTLE LITTLE. IF YOU’RE GOING OUT AND HE’S STILL GOING TO TRY TO GET A LITTLE OUT OF YOU, THE SKY IS CLEAR FOR THE MOMENT. WE HAVE A LITTLE CLOUD IN LA CROSSE. THAT’S ALL. AND AS WE GET INTO THE NEXT FEW DAYS HERE, WE WILL INCREASE THAT CLOUD COVER. BUT WATCH AS THE WINDS FINALLY STARTING TO SLOW DOWN FOR US, AT LEAST A LITTLE ON FRIDAY MORNING, TO AROUND 5 TO 10 MPH. AND FOR MUCH OF FRIDAY THEY WON’T BE A PROBLEM EITHER. BUT WE HAVE SOME CHANCES FOR THE SHOWERS TO OPEN UP. MAYBE AN ISOLATED STORM. THERE WILL BE A SYSTEM PASSING NEAR OUR SOUTHWEST THAT COULD BE A STRONG STORM COMPLEX THAT WILL BRING THE POTENTIAL FOR SOME STRONG STORMS, WHICH WE’LL TALK ABOUT IN A SECOND. BUT THOSE LEAVE HERE WITH SOME PERMANENT WIND TO THE NORTHEAST, AND THEN MAYBE A SHOWER OR PAST STORM DURING THE DAY ON SATURDAY. BUT THE TEMPERATURE REMAINS VERY PLEASANT EVEN THOUGH WE ARRIVE AT THE END OF THE WEEKEND. SUNDAY LOOKS DRY AND SUNNY, JUST LIKE MONDAY, AS TO HOW MUCH RAIN YOU CAN EXPECT TO GET FROM THIS AGAIN, NOT EXACTLY PROLIFIC RAIN OVER THE NEXT FEW DAYS HERE WE COULD SEE MORE THAN HALF AN INCH FOR DECORAH. OTHERWISE I WOULD SAY A TENTH OF AN INCH OR LESS FOR MOST OF US. BUT THERE IS A POSSIBILITY TOWARD THE SOUTHWEST TOMORROW THAT WE COULD SEE A STRONG, ISOLATED STORM ASSOCIATED WITH THAT STORM COMPLEX TO THE SOUTHWEST. AGAIN, THIS IS A VERY LOW OPPORTUNITY. IT IS A LEVEL ONE THREAT ON A SCALE THAT GOES UP TO FIVE. SO THERE IS SOME POTENTIAL. BUT AS WE GET CLOSER TO SATURDAY, THE SHOWERS WE’RE GOING TO SEE, ISOLATED STORMS, DON’T HAVE A LOT OF POTENTIAL FOR US, BUT YOU SEE BEAUTIFUL OUTER SKIES THAT STAY RELATIVELY CLEAR ACROSS THE STATE. AND YOUR 12 HOUR FORECAST WILL BRING IT BACK TO THE LOW 80’S. TOMORROW AFTERNOON WE WILL BUILD THOSE CLOUDS, BRING THAT CHANCE OF RAIN AND AGAIN ON SATURDAY WE COULD SEE AN ISOLATED SHOWER. ON TOP OF THAT, THINGS LOOK MOSTLY DRY AS TEMPERATURES STARTED TO RISE AND WE’RE LOOKING FOR CHANCES OF 90F BY THE END OF NEXT WEEE
