NIEVES, Jennifer Jennifer “Jenny” Nieves, age 36, of Windsor, CT; formerly of Newington, CT, she passed away peacefully at Yale New Haven Hospital on Thursday (July 28, 2011) after a very long illness. She was predeceased by her paternal grandparents Modesta and Bernardo Nieves of Hartford, CT. Born June 9, 1975, she lived her early years in Hartford. She leaves behind her most precious son, Antonio Lorenzo Benítez, 14 years old; her beloved parents Esther and Lorenzo Nieves of Windsor; a brother Lorenzo Nieves, Jr and his partner Adam Histed of Manchester, CT, and a sister Lourdes Bonilla and her family of Hartford, CT. Along with her son, parents and siblings, she leaves behind her maternal grandmother Esther Ruiz of Wethersfield; her maternal uncles “C” Ruiz and his wife Wendy of New Mexico; Albert Ruiz and his wife Eloise of Newington; and Richard Ruiz of Coventry and his fiancee Zoraida León; her paternal aunts Carmen (Nieves) Marrero and her husband Ángel Luis de Windsor; and Hilda “Nilda” Nieves of Rocky Hill; paternal uncles, Antonio Nieves of Florida; José Luis Nieves of East Hartford, Arnaldo Nieves and his wife Hilda of Newington; Cristóbal Sánchez and his wife Mercedes from Manchester; Raúl Nieves and wife Christina of MA; and many, many more cousins and friends. Jenny is a 1993 graduate of Newington High School. Her first job was as a dietary assistant at Hartford Hospital, where many of her family members worked. After graduating from Tunxis Community College, she worked as an administrative assistant at Cheney Halfway House in Hartford, CT. While working at Cheney Halfway House, she attended and graduated from Branford College as a paralegal before becoming ill. Jenny was a beautiful, vibrant and caring young woman who was loved by all who knew her and will be greatly missed. The family would like to express a special thank you to the nurses and chaplain at Yale New Haven Hospital, especially Jessica, Julie, Ashley and Charmane.
