The class of 2025 is ready to prove itself on Michigan high school football fields when competition begins in just two months. Many have already proven themselves in the field of recruitment as well. From players in the national spotlight to those looking to catch the attention of recruiters, here’s a look at the top 50 recruits of Michigan’s incoming senior class.

1. Bryce Underwood, quarterback, Belleville
Commitment: LSU
By now, everyone who follows high school football in Michigan is well aware of Underwood and his talent. Ranked as the nation’s top-ranked recruit by the 247Sports Composite, he has had a spectacular high school career for Belleville, going 40-2 since he started as a freshman. He has been to the Division 1 state championship every year of high school and won two of them. He is also the reigning Michigan High School Football Player of the Year.
Underwood (6-foot-3.5, 205) compiled another impressive statistical season last fall by finishing 179 of 276 passing for 3,329 yards and 41 touchdowns with just three interceptions. He also ran for 199 yards and seven more touchdowns. He committed to LSU on January 6.

2. Avery Gach, OL, Birmingham Groves
Commitment: Michigan
Rated as a four-star interior offensive lineman by the 247Sports Composite ratings, Gach is a 6-foot-5, 287-pound talent who has been a monster in the trenches for Birmingham Groves over the past few seasons. During his recruiting, he has been billed as a versatile player who can potentially play anywhere on the offensive line.
He committed to Michigan on May 3.
3. Bobby Kanka, BA, Howell
Commitment: Michigan
There was no one more eager to commit to the Wolverines than Kanka, as he became the first commitment of the Wolverines’ 2025 class on August 1, 2023. He then watched Michigan go on to have an undefeated season and claim the national championship . .
Kanka, who is 6-foot-4 and 285 pounds, has a four-star rating according to the 247Sports Composite.
4. Xavier Newsom, DL, Detroit Martin Luther King
Uncommitted
Newsom is the top uncommitted recruit at the time this list is published. The 6-foot-5, 220-pound running back still has plenty of time to figure out his future and it’s all a matter of when he decides he’s ready. He has many major conference schools on an offer list that has grown to 20 schools. Michigan, Penn State, Kansas, Louisville and Purdue are among the schools that have extended offers.

5. Flores Kamren, WR, West Bloomfield
Uncommitted
Flowers excelled on the field and track at West Bloomfield last year after spending his first two football seasons at Ann Arbor Huron. Flowers, who is 5-foot-11 and 170 pounds, was an all-state sprinter in the 100- and 200-meter races as a sophomore.
Last season, his speed was used more in the running game as he finished with 292 receiving yards and 612 rushing yards with 11 total touchdowns. With 25 offers and counting, Flowers seems destined to end up at a Power Four school. Michigan State, Penn State, Wisconsin and Kansas were among those she offered.
6. Elijah Dotson, S, Belleville
Commitment: Pitt
Dotson committed to Pittsburgh in May and chose the Panthers over nearly 20 other offers. He was used all over the field by Detroit UD Jesuit before transferring to Belleville after last season. On defense, he had 61 tackles and three interceptions. As a wide receiver, he had 33 receptions for 615 yards and 11 touchdowns.
7. N’Kye Wynn, OL, Muskegon
Commitment: Rutgers
Wynn collected more than 25 scholarship offers before committing to Rutgers last Monday. The 6-foot-4, 277-pound talent led a Muskegon offensive line that rushed for 2,773 yards and 67 touchdowns, including 3,000 total yards and 78 total touchdowns and 561 total points.
8. Jace Clarizio, RB, East Lansing
Commitment: State of Michigan
Michigan State recruited the state’s top running back from its own backyard when Clarizio committed on May 14. The 6-foot, 190-pound talent rushed for 1,247 yards on 148 carries, averaging 8.4 yards per carry. He had 16 rushing touchdowns and two more receiving touchdowns. He had more than 15 offers at the time of his commitment.
9. Desmond Straughton, ATH, Roseville
Commitment: Illinois
The 6-foot-1, 192-pound athlete committed to play for Illinois over the weekend, ending his recruitment with 25 offers on the board. He has played on offense, defense and special teams for Roseville. He rushed for 767 yards and eight touchdowns and also recorded 14 receptions for 236 yards and four touchdowns. On defense, he had 46 tackles with two interceptions.

10. Darrin Strey, OT, Paw Paw
Commitment: Kentucky
Strey’s size is impressive and Kentucky was thrilled to earn the 6-foot-7, 300-pound lineman’s commitment on June 9. With around 30 offers, Strey’s size and skills made him one of the most offered players in the state at the time. of his commitment. Strey finished last season with 96 blocks on offense and then also anchored Paw Paw’s defensive line with 64 tackles and 12 tackles for loss.
