Award-winning singer-songwriters Tricia Waker, Karen Staley, Ashley Cleveland and Carrie Tillis will soon reunite for a special evening of music and stories at the Grammy Museum Mississippi in Cleveland.
On Tuesday, July 16 at 7 pm, the group of artists will perform “Bluebird Café style” for the Big Night: Mujeres en la Ronda. Tickets for the event are now available for $100 for members and $125 for non-members, with proceeds going to support music education initiatives at the museum. There will be a reception before the show, starting at 6 p.m.
“We are thrilled to continue our Big Night Out with Women in the Round series this year and invite four incredibly talented singers and songwriters to our museum for what is sure to be an incredible evening of music,” said Grammy Museum Mississippi Executive Director Emily Havens. “The contributions these talented artists have made to the history of American music are incredible and we look forward to having them here to share their music and the stories of their prolific careers.”
Walker, Staley and Cleveland were members of the talented quartet that was the first girl group “in the round” at Bluebird Cafe, one of the world’s premier listening rooms in Nashville, Tennessee. Their first show together was in 1988 and they continued to perform together on select dates over the years.
The performance at the Grammy Museum in Mississippi will reunite the original three and add Tillis to the mix. Each one will have the opportunity to share their stories while they take turns playing their songs and accompanying each other instrumentally and with harmonious voices.
