U-Haul is extending a helping hand to residents of Davison and Lincoln counties in South Dakota affected by recent severe flooding. The company is offering 30 days of self-storage and free use of U-Box containers to those affected by the disaster.
Since Thursday, the region has experienced record rainfall, causing flash flooding and road closures in Sioux Falls and Mitchell. Local authorities have issued evacuation notices for residents in flood-prone areas.
Recognizing the critical need for storage solutions during post-disaster recovery, Eric Erbentraut, president of U-Haul Company of Fargo, authorized two stores in his region to participate in this relief effort. Offer includes free delivery and pickup of U-Box containers at residential locations.

“Our goal is to support our community during this difficult time,” Erbentraut said. “By offering free storage, we hope to alleviate some of the stress our neighbors face.”
30-day free offer is available on new storage and U-Box rentals, subject to availability. Affected residents seeking assistance or more information should contact the nearest participating U-Haul center.
This initiative is part of U-Haul’s ongoing commitment to providing disaster relief support to communities in need.
