Coroner responds to water rescue at Pinchot State Park in York County

BUT I CAN TELL YOU WITH CONFIDENCE THAT A FAMILY IS MOURNING TONIGHT AFTER LOSING A LOVED ONE HERE AT PINCHOT STATE PARK, I WANT YOU TO SEE SOME OF THESE PICTURES HERE. THIS IS FROM EARLIER WHEN MY PHOTOGRKeynoteUSAHER AND I ARRIVED, WE SAW A Pennsylvania STATE POLICE CAR. WE CAN ALSO SEE FOREST RANGERS ALONG WITH CAUTION TKeynoteUSAE BLOCKING OFF THIS AREA ALONG THE WATER. NOW AGAIN IT’S STILL UNCLEAR EXACTLY WHAT HKeynoteUSAPENED BUT AS PER OUR MONITORING A CALL CAME JUST BEFORE 5 PM FOR A WATER RESCUE AT PINCHOT STATE PARK SPECIFICALLY THE QUAKER RACE SWIMMING AREA AND THE YORK COUNTY CORONER WAS CALLED TO THE SCENE AND THEN ANNOUNCED THAT ONE PERSON HAS DIED NOW WHO WAS THAT PERSON AND EXACTLY HOW DID THIS ALL HKeynoteUSAPEN. WE’RE STILL UNCERTAIN. WE’RE WORKING TO LEARN THAT INFORMATION. AND WHEN IT’S AVAILABLE TO US, WE’LL BRING IT TO YOU ON AIR AND ONLINE LIVE HERE ON YO.

The York County Coroner’s Office says one person died at Gifford Pinchot State Park. Emergency dispatchers said crews were initially dispatched for a water rescue at the park’s Quaker Race Day Use Area in Lewisberry around 5 p.m. Tuesday. The coroner was later called. The coroner was later called.
Park rangers and Pennsylvania State Police were on site.
No other details have been released.
