Hundreds of Utahns came out to celebrate the LGBTQ community on Saturday and Sunday, marching, cheering and waving rainbow flags.
Donning rainbow makeup and wigs, members of Utah‘s LGBTQ community gathered at the Utah Capitol Saturday morning for the Pride March and Rally. People danced, listened to speakers and posed for selfies before raising the edge of a giant rainbow flag and continuing down State Street, behind brightly colored balloons spelling out the word “Pride.”

Once the group arrived at Washington Square Park, the Utah Pride Festival began and performers lit up the stage.
On Sunday, the Utah Pride Parade began at 10 a.m., filling the streets of downtown Salt Lake City with floats and excited spectators. Children waved rainbow flags over their parents’ shoulders, and attendees along the parade route waved more rainbow flags. One person held up a sign that said, “Just spread the love.” A float for the Why Kiki bar featured a group of drag queens, posing in high heels.
