Midway’s Homestead Resort also offers a respite from the daily grind. Sales and Marketing Director Jamie Leatham says the newly refurbished property is synonymous with luxury. Founded in 1886, this charming property has become an idyllic destination for corporate retreats, weddings and social events, attracting visitors from near and far.
Homestead’s corporate clientele spans diverse industries, and notable organizations such as Smith’s Food and Drug return annually for fundraising events. This intimate property consists of just 123 accommodation rooms, ensuring personalized attention and a feeling of exclusivity at every event.
Physical beauty only increases your attractiveness. According to Leatham, the site features a natural hot spring that maintains a pleasant 95 degrees year-round. It is a service that combines relaxation with adventure, as guests can even dive into the depths of the crater.
Perhaps the property’s greatest asset is its proximity to Wasatch Mountain State Park. Leatham says this prime location means guests can hike, cycle and ride ATVs, experiencing the breadth and depth of the natural world.
The property itself engages guests through other experiences, such as golf, that allow guests to enjoy fresh air while fostering connections with colleagues. After a busy, full day, Leatham says guests can look forward to Homestead’s blend of rustic elegance and contemporary amenities. This is reflected in the individual cabin-style accommodation spread throughout the property. Unlike traditional hotels, each cabin offers guests a private retreat feel, with front porches for quiet moments.
“Our accommodation rooms are located in small individual cabins around the property,” says Leatham. “We don’t have a big hotel; It’s not traditional at all. Instead, (the rooms are) in small cabins. A cabin can have six accommodation rooms, each (with) its own room, bathroom and everything the same as a normal hotel room, just nicer. Everyone has a front porch. “It gives a retreat feel to the property rather than a corporate feel.”
Leatham says this setup has been popular with groups because the location allows for team building but also privacy. The facility offers several meeting spaces, all of which have the benefit of natural lighting, built-in credenzas, AV capabilities, beautiful lighting and décor.
As corporate retreat trends evolve, Leatham says Homestead remains ahead of the curve. Recent years have seen a shift towards experiential retreats, with a focus on outdoor activities and themed events. From camping-inspired adventures to outdoor movie nights under the stars, Leatham says his team intends to cater to diverse preferences that result in memorable experiences for everyone.
Looking ahead, Leatham shares the owner’s intentions to enhance the venue’s offerings, with plans for a full-service spa, luxury pools sourced from natural hot springs, and a Marriott Autograph property designation by 2026. These developments aim to enhance guest experiences while attracting a broader audience. audience.
