The New Jersey Legislature is set to approve a new specialty license plate for Jersey drivers. It’s to “raise awareness about mental health.”
The lead sponsor is state Sen. Jon Bramnick, R-Union. He’s a nice guy. I mentioned on air Tuesday that you can call into our show every day and mention mental health and that you shouldn’t be afraid to reach out for help if you or someone you know needs it. That’s all. There is your conscience. Do we need to have a license plate for that?
We already have special license plates for 17 different topics. They are officially called “dedicated plates.” They cost $50 and the new one will cost you the same plus a $10 renewal fee each year. Two of the special plates have a renewal fee of $15 and $20. They are the USS New Jersey Battleship and Agriculture respectively. Here are the other dishes you can get.

We don’t really need more, but the state likes to get more money out of you and take advantage of your passion. If you have the money and you want it, do it. Plus, Senator Bramnick is running for governor and it doesn’t hurt to know that he cares about his mental health.
Personally, I don’t want anyone to know anything about me because of what’s on my license plate or in my car. Here are a few I’ve noticed recently driving around New Jersey.

My favorite is Pennsylvania’s homemade license plate during the pandemic.

Back then they didn’t arrest anyone for anything, so anything goes.
