The Missouri Farm Bureau has released another round of endorsements for statewide elections. The decision comes as the Missouri Farm Bureau Political Action Committee voted Monday afternoon at its headquarters in Jefferson City.
One of the main endorsements was that of Senator Lincoln Hough in his candidacy for lieutenant governor.
Hough currently serves as State Senator for District 30. He was elected to the Senate in 2018 and re-elected in 2022. Hough was endorsed by Farm Bureau during his Senate election and was again endorsed for Lieutenant Governor.
Missouri Farm Bureau credits Hough for being a first-generation rancher. Hough currently serves on the board of directors for the Greene County Farm Bureau. Hough will face Sen. Holly Rehder, Matthew Porter and David Wasinger in the Republican primary in August.
“Senator Hough has once again earned the endorsement of the Missouri Farm Bureau PAC as he continues to advocate for the future of agriculture in our state. “His work as Appropriations Committee Chairman has supported vital investments in our state’s infrastructure, which is key to our farmers and ranchers providing the food, fiber and fuel our nation needs,” said Garrett Hawkins, Chairman of the Appropriations Committee. The PAC also announced endorsements from Attorney General Andrew Bailey. Bailey was appointed Attorney General by Governor Mike Parson in January 2023.
“Andrew Bailey has shown a willingness to fight for property rights during his tenure,” said MOFB President Garrett Hawkins. “He understands that flawed federal climate and energy policies affect all Missourians, and his vision for making rural Missouri a vibrant place to work and live aligns with our members’ vision for the future of the agriculture in the state.
Andrew Bailey currently serves as the 44th Attorney General of Missouri. He will face former Assistant U.S. Attorney Will Scharf in August in the Republican primary.
Rep. Kurtis Gregory received the latest endorsement from the Missouri Farm Bureau in the state Senate race in District 21. Gregory, who was elected in 2020, currently serves in House District 51.
“Kurtis Gregory earned this endorsement because since his first day as a member of the Missouri General Assembly, he has been a strong advocate for rural families, farmers and small business owners across the state,” said board member David Lueck. leadership of the Lafayette PAC. County. “By continuing his family’s farming legacy, Kurtis understands firsthand the challenges we face. “We look forward to working with him during his first term in the Missouri Senate and his continued advocacy for farm families and rural communities.”
In 2022, Gregory earned the Missouri Farm Bureau “Friend of Agriculture” award. During his second term in the House, Gregory passed the MOFB Health Plans bill in the House and served as vice chair of the Agricultural Policy committee.
The Missouri Farm Bureau PAC previously endorsed Josh Hawley for U.S. Senate and Jason Bean for state Senate. Mark Alford, Eric Burlison and Jason Smith have been endorsed for the House of Representatives. The Farm Bureau also endorsed Lt. Gov. Mike Kehoe for governor in February.
