Storms could become severe on both Saturday and Sunday, but there appears to be a greater risk on Saturday.
DENVER – Parts of Colorado could experience severe weather conditions on Saturday and Sunday.
Storms are forecast to move through the state this weekend, and according to 9NEWS meteorologist Chris Bianchi, there is a serious threat for both days. The chances of severe weather are expected to be higher on Saturday, with the risk of hail, strong winds and isolated tornadoes, Bianchi reported.
No heavy rain is expected for either day, Bianchi said, but the foothills could see more rain on Sunday.
Severe storms are likely in the Northeast on Saturday, with the greatest threat occurring “along and northeast of a line from Greeley to Limón,” according to the National Weather Service (NWS) forecast office for Denver and Boulder.
The main threats are damaging winds and hail up to 2 inches in diameter, the NWS said, but there is also a chance for flooding and a tornado on Saturday.
