Angela Moore represents District 91 in DeKalb and Rockdale counties.
She previously posted a photo of herself with a Delta sorority border around her photo for Founders Day.
Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. released a letter saying Moore is not a member of the sorority.
“We conducted a thorough review of our membership records and consulted with the supposed initiation chapter. We also contacted Ms. Moore several times for additional information to support our search. We can confirm that Ms. Angela Moore is not, nor has she ever been, a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.,” wrote Dorcas Washington, CEO of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.
“I’m so sorry I had to put you through this,” Moore told Washington on Monday.
“This is not something I would want to continue,” he added.
Moore said she was committed to her old married name, but then, after her divorce, changed her name to distance herself from her ex-husband. She said that’s why her current name doesn’t match Delta’s membership records.
“I refuse to say what my old married name was,” Moore said.

There are other accusations. Some of Moore’s colleagues said the District 91 representative also introduced herself as a veteran and a gynecologist.
“I am a family veteran. My entire family are veterans. Well, all the males are veterans,” Moore explained.
When asked about being an obstetrician, Moore said, “I worked at an obstetrician.”
“So you’re not an obstetrician,” Washington asked.
“No,” Moore responded.
“But you worked for one,” Washington asked.
“No, I worked in the field of obstetrics and gynecology medicine,” Moore responded.

There is also video from the House of Representatives that appeared to show Moore engaged in a physical interaction with another House member. Washington obtained the video.
Moore said he only pushed the member after it hit his ankle.
“I jumped, screamed, grabbed my arm and pushed her back,” Moore explained.
“Do you believe that any of these accusations in any way prevent you from serving the people of District 91?” Washington asked.
“Of course not,” Moore responded.
“Whether I’m Greek, or if I’m a doctor, or if I’m a veteran has something (sic) to do with me coming here to the Georgia State Capitol and taking care of the business of the people,” Moore said.
Moore said he has no plans to resign.
He said he hopes to show that he is a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.
The brotherhood still questions his membership.
