Our friends at This is Alabama recently asked their followers what one Alabama restaurant they’ll never get tired of eating at, and based on the variety of offerings, it’s safe to assume there are plenty of restaurants worth visiting again and again in the entire state. .
From Dew Drop Inn in Mobile to The Bright Star in Bessmer, Martin’s Restaurant in Montgomery, The Waysider in Tuscaloosa and Big Bob Gibon’s Bar-BQ in Decatur, many iconic Alabama restaurants, diverse in the food they serve, made the list ( and in most cases, more than once). It seems that his fans can’t get enough of singing his praises either.

Of course, the dish that keeps many people coming back is their popular Dew Drop Inn Hot Dog, which is served topped with chili, sauerkraut, mustard, ketchup, and pickles.
Bright Star Restaurant is at 304 19th St. North in Bessemer, Alabama. The restaurant opened in 1907 and has been recognized by the Alabama Department of Tourism as the oldest restaurant in Alabama.

For about 90 years, Meat-and-Three has served up perfectly crispy fried chicken, pulley bones you’d be hard-pressed to find anywhere else, and so much more. (We love it so much that we named it the best fried chicken in Alabama last year.) Whatever you order, be sure to leave room for their beloved chocolate cake.
