JEFFERSON CITY – Gov. Mike Parson reappointed former St. Louis Mayor Lyda Krewson to the University of Missouri Board of Curators following a dispute last month with state Sen. Steve Roberts.
Parson, a Republican, withdrew Krewson’s nomination, as well as other St. Louis nominees, during the final weeks of the legislative session, preserving his ability to reappoint them after the session ended on May 17.
Johnathan Shiflett, a spokesman for the governor, said last month that Roberts declined to sponsor the nominations of Krewson and others, breaking with a Senate tradition that generally asks senators to sponsor candidates who live in their districts.
Parson on Wednesday also reappointed the Rev. Darryl Gray to the Missouri Workforce Development Board and former St. Louis Police Chief Dan Isom to the Bi-State Development Agency. They both live in St. Louis.

Parson also reappointed Winston Calvert, of University City, to the bi-state agency after withdrawing his nomination in May, even though Calvert did not live in Roberts’ district.
Roberts, an unopposed Democrat in the Aug. 6 primary, said last month that Parson did not notify his office about the appointments before they were announced.
Shiftlett said Roberts had pushed to be appointed to the Public Service Commission and for his father, Steven Roberts Sr., to join the Board of Curators.
Other appointments announced Wednesday included Dudley McCarter, of Clayton, to the Higher Education Coordinating Board; Tracy Henke, of Chesterfield, of the Missouri Workforce Development Board; Whitney Smith, of Des Peres, to the Missouri Ethics Commission; and Victoria Babb, of St. Peters, to the Missouri Community Services Commission.
