TULLAHOMA, Tenn. (WZTV) – A Middle Tennessee pastor and master barber just got off the road after a huge commitment to faith.
Adam Cutshaw spent 100 days street preaching in every county in Tennessee.
Street preaching is not easy. Not everyone appreciates the effort, but for Adam Cutshaw it’s as natural as following Jesus. The original street preacher.
The Cutshaw Classic barbershop in Tullahoma is bustling with activity. There’s a lot of noise in there. Lots of laughter, lots of stories, there are no strangers here.
Adam Cutshaw bought this store eight years ago and it has been a pleasure.
“You know, you look good, you feel good, right? People come in, you try to give them what they want, and they leave happy. And, you know, it seems like you wear a lot of hats, you know? “The therapist is not the therapist cheaper, man, you know, not bad, for 20 bucks, you know, having 30 minutes to share good things or share burdens,” Cutshaw said.
Adam Cutshaw is made for this. Now it might seem like he’s cut out to be a college football player, and this barbershop, as much as he loves it, is not his heart, his heart is in ministry.
In fact, Cutshaw has been out of business for 100 days. His wife and five children spent 100 days preaching in all 95 counties of Tennessee. Street preaching. Which is not like preaching from a pulpit. In the pulpit people come to see you. You will see them on the street, and that can be hard.
So the love of Christ is what drives me, and it is a battle. It is a battle with the flesh. It is not always, in itself, pleasant. But we are the church and we must go to the world. And there are many who will not go through the door of a church, perhaps their family or friends will not tell them the good news of Jesus. “So how else are they going to listen?” Cutshaw said.
Hundred days. So many encounters, so many exchanges, so hard to know if it matters.
“He gives us that great promise in His word, that His word does not return void. And so it even says in His word that some men water in some implant, but He gives the increase and then maybe we are just planting that seed that someone else will water or maybe today we are watering what someone’s grandmother planted 20 years ago, we do not know. But we know that God gives the increase and we simply trust Him with the results,” Cutshaw said.
On the last day of ministry, Adam’s church family came out to celebrate the 100-day journey on the steps of the state capitol. An opportunity to pray, sing and thank God for an incredible opportunity.
Now we’re back at the barbershop and while you might think it’s a big change, it’s not really. Adam Cutshaw is who he is, whether on a strange street or next to his familiar chair, he and his message never change.
“Yeah, well, and you’re going to serve someone, right? And then you’re going to serve God, you’re going to serve people’s opinion. You’re going to serve yourself, you’re going to serve Satan, you’re going to serve tosomeone”. serve someone So why not be a servant of a good king?
